Anita Roddick (statement no. 3), Founder and Co-Chairman, The Body Shop International (headquartered in United Kingdom):

"Question...: Ms. Roddick, what are the social issues about which you care the most?

Anita Roddick: Human rights -- in a broader definition than political rights. It's economic rights, cultural rights, the right to education, the right to a home and the right to organize. That's my passion.

Question...: Ms. Roddick, do you believe that the World Trade Organization should be reformed or dismantled? And if it is dismantled, do you believe any organization should rise to take its place in determining international trade policies?

Anita Roddick: I think, as a realist, it should be reformed. The process of organizing is so far gone, and too many countries have invested too much into the whole system. Where it should be reformed is that human rights and social justice and environmental management should be at the heart of every business transaction....."
